About

The Society for American Baseball Research’s Connie Mack chapter serves the Philadelphia region. It can trace its history back to May 6, 1978 when 40 SABR members and 19 players gathered in Philadelphia for the regional meeting. Since then, membership has grown to an excess of 300 people. The 2013 SABR National Convention was held in Philadelphia, with chapter members being integral to the planning process. The chapter gathers monthly during the winter months for “Hot Stove” meetings, and each January it hosts a SABRDay conference in Center City Philadelphia. Since the fall of 2020, the chapter has met virtually each week to discuss wide ranging topics on current baseball and baseball history.

All baseball fans are encouraged to attend the Connie Mack chapter’s meetings, discussions, and events. Be sure to follow the chapter on Facebook and Twitter.
